A message from HGJJ Head Coach Tommy Costa: I am excited to finally announce our move from Center Ice Arena! After a lot of searching and deliberation we have found the perfect location for our new dojo! The address for the new gym is 2155 US-119, Greensburg, PA 15601, the former location of The Roadhouse Bar and Grill. Only 5 minutes from the Westmoreland Mall and Twin Lakes Park. It is just 7 miles, a 12 minute drive, from our current Delmont location. Over the next month... we will be doing construction at our new location to open our doors on May 1st. We will continue classes in Delmont until the end of the month and move our mats in after all of the renovations are complete. Our new location will afford us the space for over 2,000 square feet of mat space, ample parking, a huge back deck and 7 acres of land at our disposal for camps and events. For many of you, your commute to the gym will be shorter or not change much at all. But for some we will be moving further away from. For this reason we are expanding our classes in our Monroeville location with the hopes that you will join us there. I am excited for the future of High Ground Jiu-Jitsu. Our new location will give us a chance to grow in ways that were not possible in Delmont. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or changes. This is a FREE class for individuals and families to learn more about common response tactics during an active shooter incident. Sunday November 10th at 3:30PM. This workshop will examine active shooting incidents using short videos, powerpoint, basic options for survival (including those adopted by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security), and last resort techniques to stay alive, with physical demonstrations. Class is led by Don Witt, retired educator with over 40 years of education and martial arts experience. Don has taught active shooter response workshops for many school districts in the region and has been a key part of active shooter response planning in our area for years.

Real World Self Defense classes taught by law enforcement professionals! Register now, only 10 spots left! Ages 13 and up, no experience necessary! Real World Defensive Tactics is a six week course starting Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017. The class will run for 6 consecutive weeks, every Wednesday from 7:30-9:00PM. Topics of study include strikes for self defense, threat assessment, escalation of force, self defense and combat laws, ground grappling defense, dealing with multiple attackers, and more. Participants will receive a binder with course materials, FBI crime statistics, relevant self defense and Use of Force laws, as well as a Certificate of Proficiency in our Level 1 Real World Defensive Tactics Program.

If you are a serious competitor, this is the seminar that will make your 2017 a great year. Two different sessions, and a catered lunch sponsored by Grappling Industries! Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Westmoreland County!
