Sidewalk replacement underway in Pottsville West Market Street project expected to take 3 weeks. BY CHRISTINE LEE STAFF WRITER... POTTSVILLE - The city is replacing sidewalks on part of West Market Street. Crews with HEIM CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., ORWIGSBURG, are ripping up the pavement this week on the north side of the 300 block to replace it and the curbs. They are also installing cut outs compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, trees and structural lighting. The street will not be closed during the work. City Administrator Thomas A. Palamar said the $ 354,298.00 project started last Thursday and is expected to wrap up in three weeks. It is funded entirely through a Community Development Block Grant administered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development. The City Council voted at its August meeting to award the contract to Heim Construction Co. the contract. Palamar said the City Official plan to replace the sidewalks on the south side of the block too, but only after the Pottsville Area Sewer authority installs a new storm sewer line in part of a downtown, including in that area. The project is the latest in the City to use CDBG money for streetscape improvements. Two years ago, sidewalks were replaced on both sides of Centre Street from Nichols to Mauch Chunk streets and at Garfield Square. Tilden Ambulatory Surgical Center, LLC construction in full progress The Tilden Ambulatory Surgery Center is located at 61 Industrial Drive, Hamburg, PA. This new construction multi-specialty ambulatory surgical center will include interventional pain medicine, interventional radiology, gastroenterology and ophthalmology. The surgery center is an 8,750 square foot area, single story building with a total occupancy of 87 people. The overall building area is 10,135 square feet. The building is set slab-on-grade, steel frame and roof. Façade has brick, EIFS and an aluminum storefront. The building will be handicapped accessible with pick up and drop areas, attached parking lot, separate employee entrances and all other compliant Type C Operation Rooms.

Tim Hennessey, Upper Merion Township Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill Jenaway and state and local officials for a groundbreaking ceremony to highlight the start of construction on the new District 6 Regional Traff...ic Management Center (RTMC) and parking structure on the existing PennDOT Engineering District 6 office property located in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County. Heim Construction Co., is the construction contractor on the $49,213,919 design/build project that is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS). Construction of the RTMC is financed with both federal and state funds. Construction of the parking structure is financed with 100 percent state funds.
