Thanks to April Higgins and her crew from Harveys Lake EMS who made sure that all the children got hot chocolate and refreshments. Thanks to Bill Strausser of Luzerne Lumber for donating the beautiful tree for our tree-lighting. Thanks to George Hogan and the Harveys Lake Road Crew who put up our Christmas Tree. Thanks to Denise Sult for coming up with this idea and agreeing to be the new chairperson of the Harveys Lake Rec Committee. Denise was helped by Maureen Oremus, Jayne Lynn, Irene Sankey, Alison Sankey, Jean Zaleskas and Jason Boice. It was great to see such smiles on the children of Harveys Lake! See more

GRANTS- When a municipality is awarded a grant, there is always a deadline within which time it must be used. Use it or lose it. It also must be used for the intended purpose outlined in the initial grant application. Any change in the scope of the original grant request must be approved. Harvey's Lake Borough submitted a request to change the scope of work under its LSA Grant of $185,000 to making upgrades in our current location, since the purchase of the former Villa ...Roma Pizza & Pasta House did not materialize. That purchase was the first change in the scope of work under this grant. We have recently been given approval for this second change in scope of work; and at the regular scheduled council meeting held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, council voted 5 to 1 to begin the process to move this along so as not to lose the grant money. The upgrades/modifications to our existing location will enhance its efficiency and will be the first major project there in many years. We are thrilled to be able to undertake this project with the LSA grant, rather than by use of a direct tax increase to our residents. See more

Today is ‘Benjamin Harvey Day’, remembering Benjamin Harvey, the man who discovered Harvey’s Lake in 1781, passed away 224 years ago today.
