So, it’s fall, it’s dark at 7:45 pm, and goat mating season is upon us. For those of you who have never experienced bucks in rut, yes the are funny. But at night, they take on a whole new thing... here’s a preview of what it’s like tonight on the farm. Love our goats!!

India Blue J Kentucky Bourbon ***SALE PENDING*** DOB: 03/22/18 ADGA Registered - D1954510 Moonspots Sire: Bright Farms V Jedi Edition *B EVV 89 (Yearling)... SS: GCH Buffalo Clover Valentino ++*B+S EEE91 SD: SGCH J-Nels ER Dumplin 2*M VEEE90 Dam: Hi-Lo Farm Mokie 1*M VEEE90 DS: AGS Wooly Dog Down Amaretto Freeze DD: AGS Hi-Lo Farm Amber Rose Bourbon's sire comes from outstanding genetics. Both Valentino and Dumplin have multiple finished champion progeny. On his dam's side, Mokie has her unrestricted leg and is putting out over 9% butterfat in lactations 3-5! Bourbon is sweet and easy to handle. His daughters are all long and level across the top-line. For those that like moonspots, he throws them to his kids, carrying just a few himself. We're bringing in some new genetics to take our herd to the next level. Bourbon has been a great buck for us and we're happy to retain 2 of his daughters who will be bred this fall for spring kids. Both daughters will be milk tested and LA'd through ADGA and we expect them both to earn their milking stars as easily as their dams have. We hope to see Bourbon mature in a performance herd bringing some great genetics to his new home. We are located in Auburn, PA and are willing to work with a reputable shipper if you do not wish to transport yourself. We are willing to transport for a fee within a reasonable distance. Pickup is also available at our farm. Bourbon is ready to go and up to date on all shots. We vaccinate for rabies and CDT. Our herd is CAE, CL, and Johne's free. If travelling out of PA, Bourbon will require a health certificate which we will coordinate with our vet. For more details on Bourbon, please visit his page on our website at http://www.gracehillfarmpa.com/india-blue-j-kentucky.../ See more

Show Results - Autumn Splendor Goat Show, Telford, PA We took 2 seniors and 3 juniors to the show this weekend and learned even more about where we want our breeding program to excel to! It was a tough competition but we were most excited about the results of our first freshener, India Blue N Azalea! India Blue N Azalea... SG India Blue EOF Jinsing 5*M x Castle Rock Niken Ring 1: 5th Place Age Class (Open Show) Ring 2: 3rd Place Age Class (Open Show) Azalea was competing against some beautiful does. The judge liked her width, depth, attachments, and body capacity - all things that we love in this doe. Improvements needed in her shoulders but with our breeding plans for this year we hope to correct that in our next generation from this exceptional doe. Azalea is on milk test and expected to earn her milking star in just a few weeks. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Goats@Grace Hill M Mini Wheat The Brennan Trixie 1*M x Six G’s Valley Moose Tracks Ring 1: 13th Place Age Class (Open Show) Ring 2: 12th Place Age Class (Open Show) Mini went to the show for fun. We wanted to see how she compared against some other does. She didn't come in last but the traits we know need improvement is what put her near the back of the class. She's an excellent milker and is also expected to earn her milk star in just a few weeks. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Goats@Grace Hill KB Jasmine SG India Blue EOF Jinsing 5*M x India Blue J Kentucky Bourbon Ring 1: 12th Place Age Class (Open Show) Ring 2: 8th Place Age Class (Open Show) Jasmine is a small junior doe with such dairy strength and length. She will be bred this fall for spring kids and we expect her to have a fantastic mammary system. She was in the middle of the class in both show rings despite her unwillingness to stand still. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Goats@Grace Hill KB Rapunzel SG India Blue JD Endless Love 2*M x India Blue J Kentucky Bourbon Ring 1: 17th Place Age Class (Open Show) Ring 2: 4th Place Age Class (Open Show) Rapunzel is a larger junior doe getting her larger body capacity from her dam. She will be bred this fall for spring kids and we expect her to have an excellent mammary system as well as increased depth of body. Rapunzel scored low under the first judge but the second judge was impressed with her length and capacity at this age. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Goats@Grace Hill KB Lucky Charm (Owned by Megan Troxell) The Brennan Trixie 1*M x India Blue J Kentucky Bourbon Ring 1: 13th Place Age Class (Open Show) Ring 2: 16th Place Age Class (Open Show) Lucky was bred on our farm but is currently owned by Megan Troxell. Megan joined us with Lucky for the show and did well. Lucky has some good width in both her front and rump, an improvement from her dam. We enjoyed having Megan & Lucky show with us this weekend!

4H Livestock Auction is underway!! We would appreciate any support for Emily’s Market Goat Project that she did this year in anticipation of the Schuylkill County Fair. With the Fair cancelled for this year, Derfler’s Auction is helping to sell the 4H projects by an online auction. You can bid at the following link.... You can choose to buy her goat and we will transport it to you. If you do not want her goat, your winning bid will help offset the cost of her project. We will gladly accept any donations outside of the auction. Any questions, please message me. Thank you for supporting Emily in 4H!!
