Yesterday GFAC Paramedic students headed to Hanover, Maryland visiting Anatomy Gifts Registry which arranges and provides donated human specimens to serve meritorious scientists, clinicians and educators. This unique experience allows students a rare but highly beneficial opportunity to hone high acuity but low frequency skills. Pictured is GFAC Medical Director Dr. Stephen Carroll reviewing advanced laryngoscope techniques before entering the clinical lab. There's still a few spots available for the upcoming Paramedic program beginning in late August! http://www.goodfellowship.com/courses/paramedics/
Congratulations to the EMT students from our University of Pennsylvania program who today tackled the National Registry Psychomotor Exam on the first attempt! #WhateverItTakes
This year May 6th through May 12th shines a light on Nurses and the amazing people who accept this herculean mission. From bumps and bruises to the worse day imaginable they stand at the ready to give 100% to each and every patient. The last year and more has certainly shown why nurses are not just a link in the chain of care, but the glue that holds everything together. #ThankYouNurses
As the weekend begins to draw to a close GFAC crews stayed busy with 54 calls for service since Friday at 6am. That's one call every hour and 24 minutes for the entirety of the weekend! On a few occasions the apparatus bay was pretty empty with crews handling multiple incidents at the same time.
Someone in the U.S. has a stroke every 40 seconds. Take a moment to learn the signs of a stroke and remember to act FAST if you see someone experiencing these symptoms. #StrokeAwarenessMonth
Members of our leadership team are joining responders from fire, police, EMS, and private agencies for ICS Command Weekend at the Chester County Public Safety Training Center. This program outlines the National Incident Command System looking at roles and responsibilities within the hierarchy and how to apply them to almost every incident.

Weather is an always changing dynamic in emergency services. The obvious changes like precipitation falling or gusty winds cause auto accidents or power outages but also can change the resources available to move patients. During inclement weather aeromedical (aka helicopters) are typically unable to fly prompting ground ambulances to fill the void. Last evening GFAC handled an interfacility transfer from Chester County Hospital to Penn Presbyterian Hospital due to rain in the region grounding aeromedical assets. #whateverittakes #communitydriven
