Planting corn! #plant2021 #plantgreen
Two of these are not like the rest! They officially think they’re sheep now!
With 200 lambs born this year the first round of lambing is coming to an end. We’re expecting another 300 or so lambs this year with the fall lambs! Fed TMR for the first time in the new barn. Also sold some of last fall’s lamb crop at NH on Monday. Certainly can’t complain about the prices we are seeing right now!
I know i’ve shared this before. But it never gets old! Enjoy! https://youtu.be/bx4Cj1-pgyk
This project is far from finished, but I brought the ewes into the new barn for the first time tonight. These ewes are due to start lambing this weekend! Other than a few cold rainy nights in December and January this is the first time these ewe were in a barn since April. They were out grazing an old hay field that I had no tilled ryegrass into in September and a barley field that I’ll let stand for grain. They were grazing for nine months straight!
Day 2 it’s under roof! Stressful day but I’m glad we got it covered before the rain!
We made good progress on the new lambing barn today. We got all the trusses set in one day! And by tomorrow night we should have the cover on! I love how fast these hoop barns go up.
Start of the new lambing barn! Stay tuned.
That’s it! Lambing 2020 is a wrap! Now the countdown to lambing 2021 begins! #lambingseason #whitedorpersheep
The overachiever of the year reward goes to this gal! Birthed 7 lambs before she’s 20 months old. #romanovsheep #acceleratedlambing #americalamb
Don’t get much better than this after a long day!
This makes nighttime lambing checks worthwhile! 4th set of triplets this fall.
