Remembrance of Jerry Seylar and Scotty Grosh by Brett Reichard, Fair President- The Franklin County Fair is sad to announce the passing of 2 amazing board members. There is a bond built between members of a community organization like ours, and so many great memories are made. Jerry Seylar had the biggest heart when it came to helping in his community. I remember growing up in the early 2000s around the fair and Jerry Seylar. I was Jerry's shadow during fair week. Learning th...e ins and outs of the fairgrounds. At my young age I got to drive Jerry around on various carts (that was pretty cool and exciting). He gave me the name 'Hotrod' because I always was driving something around those grounds! Down at the track is where Jerry found a baby bunny nest and I was able to pet a bunny the first time ever! He taught me neat outdoors and wildlife lessons that I won't forget. I could go on with so many stories, but I'll let it at that- thank you Jerry. When I was elected President I came to know Scotty Grosh. He and his family have worked tirelessly putting on the demo derby at the Fair. He too had a big heart and offered the fair tons of support. I will always remember he and Cory would always arrive earlier than me to the fair meetings! Scotty was always kind when he spoke with others and took on projects to improve the fair. Thank you Scotty. It's truly amazing how the love and compassion for a community organization will bring people together of different backgrounds and create the best friendships. I'm honored to have worked with these men. Please keep their families in your prayers. See more

Anyone who attends the fair knows that the demo derby is a crowd favorite! We'd like to extend our thoughts and prayers out to the family who puts together our derby. Scotty, a chairman and behind the scenes worker, is battling stage 4 cancer. We know that he'll be as tough as the demo derby cars and fight Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers as well

What a beautiful weekend it turned out to be! Friday evening our 2020 Franklin County Fair Royalty was officially crowned. Then, on Saturday, the Franklin County Youth Dairy Club was able to hold their summer show. It may not have been the usual fair, but we’re so thankful these youth still had the opportunity!
