Fishing season started off cold but there are plenty of fish and the First Fork is running great. We also made an addition to the sign.
Trout season opens tomorrow. Hope everyone has a safe and successful time fishing. I wish the weather was a little warmer to kick off the season but who doesn't enjoy fishing with temperature starting off in the 20's. Good news is that it should get to the upper 40's in the afternoon and there is no snow in the forecast for tomorrow. Stay safe and healthy.
Just in case I'm not the only one that missed it, PA trout season changed to a statewide opening on April 3rd. We are excited and looking forward to a great season. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
First Fork Lodge is offering a 10% discount to any participant in the Sinnemahone Triple Crown events. Please inform us in which event you are participating when booking.
We are excited about the upcoming trout season and have started getting reservations. The group that normally takes opening weekend are not able to make it which opens up the Lodge for reservations that weekend. Please contact the Lodge to reserve your spot.
Happy Holidays!! Hope everyone is staying safe as the pandemic has continued to grow throughout the country. Maybe the vaccine will be safely out to the public sooner rather than later and we can get back to normal lives. We are looking forward to some really good snow this winter so the snowmobile clubs can enjoy themselves. Shannon and I are spending the holiday season getting our house in GA ready to sell that way she can move to the Lodge in the Spring/Summer time. Dave and Sandy have been celebrating the season at the Lodge and working hard to keep things running well for us. Have a great holiday season and stay healthy.
This morning we received word that Linda Krafft had passed away last night. From our first meeting, Linda Krafft has treated us like family. As we assumed ownership of the Lodge, Linda has been nothing but helpful during the transition, being especially patient with our panicked phone calls when things just were not going as planned. Today our hearts and prayers are with Jack, as well as all of Linda’s family and friends as we mourn the loss of a truly wonderful woman who treated everyone like family. Linda, may you rest in peace knowing all the lives you have touched.
Had a 2 week vacation/hunting trip planned at the Lodge but some repairs quickly turned it into a work trip. We replaced some beams, door, deck and siding on the area between the Lodge and owners quarters. Might not have been as fun but was work that needed done. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay long enough to get the roof up over the little deck. Dad should be able to get that on his own or with limited help. Hope everyone is safe and healthy.
Happy Halloween everyone!! Our kids carved some pumpkins for us as well as my nephew Jacob. I think they turned out well. Hope everyone stays safe tonight.
One change to our hunting season specials will be that dinner will not be family style. Since we are still battling the pandemic, dinner will be served by the staff to help us keep everyone as safe as we can. Thanks for all the support we have received so far and I hope everyone is safe and healthy. Please call 814-647-8644 to book.
We picked up the new shirts today. Instead of shipping them to the Lodge, I will be taking them there when I go in just over 2 weeks. Just like the last shirts, we can have more made rather quickly. If you cannot make it to the Lodge but want a shirt, you can email me at [email protected] and we can ship straight to you. Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.
Some new shirts that we are working on. Hopefully I will have these and some whitetail shirts in about 2 weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed.

We are back in South Carolina but are still working on the Lodge from here. Carolyne, working on a wine rack for Shannon that will end up in the dining room at the Lodge.
Shannon and I had a great visit to the Lodge this last weekend. We finally got the new sign up. Trip was way too short and we were sad to leave. Nothing like being spoiled like a guest in your own Lodge. Thank you Dad and Sandy.
As we continue to navigate the COVID pandemic, Shannon and I are finally authorized to travel up to the lodge for a few days. We are excited to provide some hands on assistance to Dave and Sandy, and see all the great improvements they have been doing for us. I finally get to show off the new sign that I made (COVID gave me plenty of time). Should have the sign mounted before we leave on Sunday. Hope to meet some guests this weekend and enjoy some time in Potter County, PA. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. We have had several guests already this week that have really been enjoying the meteor showers that are in full swing. Dave and Sandy have had nothing but compliments on the meals that they have made. I really appreciate all the support we have received from guests and friends since taking ownership. Everyone has been great even during this pandemic to help us make the most out of the Lodge.
Happy 4th of July weekend to everyone. It is a great weekend to celebrate independence. Hopefully everyone is still safe and healthy. We have quite a few guests at the Lodge this weekend and Dave and Sandy are working hard to make the everyone's stay the best it can be. Thank you to Jack and Linda for all the support.
My Facebook Inbox was down for about 2 weeks and just became available again. Sorry to those that have tried to contact me and I did not reply. We are looking forward to a great summer this year and are working on getting some new items in the shop for hikers, golfers and tourists. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
Some pictures that our guests gave us of Potter County fishing.
Came up with some hunting season specials . Worked with most of the opening weekends and special seasons. Trying to get the word out early. Please call to book!!
Recently made a few orange shirts that were requested. They turned out pretty good. At this point, we do not intend on having them in stock at the Lodge but are available for special orders at the current price ($20 short sleeve, $25 Long sleeve).
Just wanted to update everyone on the Lodge and where we stand with the COVID pandemic. We are operating almost normally. We had a great week last week with guests every day. So far, we have not had groups share rooms like in the past but are moving in that direction. We did turn away several reservation requests just to limit the number people in the Lodge. For anyone that has stayed, please feel free to email me and provide feedback on how we can improve ([email protected]). All the feedback I have received so far has been very positive and tells me that my dad is doing a great job running things for me which is great. Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
