Last weekend we had the pleasure to train with a great group of fireman who left an overnight ‘job’ to spend 8 plus hours doing some of the most physically demanding training they’ve ever done. The FAST Rescue Solutions HOT training is exactly that. The Blandon Fire Department hosted us for our Saving Our Own - FAST program. The BFD have been FAST ‘Tribe’ for sometime but we gave them 8+ hours of ridiculously ‘sick’ hasty training which should prepare them for one of their worst nightmares...one of their own down, unconscious, not breathing in an IDLH. Houston Firefighters routinely assist neighboring fire departments with large incidents. Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association along with multiple other fire departments assisted Nassau Bay Fire Department with an apartment fire. Blandon Fire Department was dispatched for fire from the roof of a dwelling early Saturday morning. Ladder 12 and Engine 12 arrived on scene to find advanced fire throughout the attic and parts of the second floor. Crews rapidly deployed a hand line and begin interior firefighting operations. Their FAST board was placed in a visible, easily accessible location in the event a firefighter emergency took place and rapid extrication would be required. Crews were on scene for several hours working to overhaul the affected areas. After the fire, the department attended our 8 hour Saving Our Own - FAST program. Course details to follow.

Lighted Board Drop Test We needed to test the ruggedness of the board and it’s wiring and you know how WE do. Chucking it off the roof 3 times was not enough so we kept going till the electrical system failed. We think we abused it more than any beating it would take in the field but who knows. Multiple companies in Guadalupe County, Texas stretched lines and went to work in the morning hours of Christmas Eve on a stubborn single family residential fire in the Lake Dunlap area. FAST Rescue trained personnel from Lake Dunlap & McQueeney were assigned to RIT and were on deck with McQueeney's FAST Board.
