Matthew 26:25 (KJV) When Jesus said that one of His disciples would betray Him Judas couldn't bring himself to say Lord like the other disciples (Matthew 26:22) but Rabbi. Much of the hurt in Christianity has come from within not without. As we reflect on Christ's crucifixion may we never betray our Lord. Remember the words Jesus said about his betrayer, "it would have been better for him if he had not been born." LORD, create in us a clean heart

For who is God besides the LORD? And who is a rock? Only our God. Psalm 18:31 (CSBBible) Undoubtedly there have been some people who have questioned your LORD. But you, are not shaken because you know if it had not been for the LORD on your side during all your trials and tribulations you would have given up and lost your mind. Can I get an amen?! LORD, we praise You for there is no god besides you. We worship You for being our rock.

The lesson looks at Christ being the believer's High Priest

Mark 14:8-9 (CSBBible) She has done what she could; she has anointed my body in advance for burial. Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her." Not understanding that there would not be time to give Jesus a proper burial, God touched the woman to give Jesus what was needed. Just like the woman was criticized because of what she did, so too this will happen to all who serve Christ. Accept this truth, some will criticize you out of ignorance or greed but God always appreciates works done out of love and obedience for Him. Here we are, still talking about what this woman did over 2000 years ago. May the works I've done speak for me. LORD, out of love and appreciation we offer ourselves to You.

Lesson looks at the faith of saints in Hebrews 11

"For the LORD your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awe-inspiring God, showing no partiality and taking no bribe." Deuteronomy 10:17 (CSBBible) There is no power nor authority like the Lord. Yet, in spite of His highness, the Lord thought about saving you from your sins. No matter what you are going through rejoice today that the God of gods and the Lord of lords love you. High and exalted God we give You praise and glory for being who you are.

"But we do see Jesus made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God's grace he might taste death for everyone crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death." Hebrews 2:9 (CSBBible) For 33 1/2 years God made Himself lower than the angels to redeem those whom He loved, sinners. But now the abased One has been exalted high above every name, every nation, every power for His glory and for our salvation. Christ is our example that we should lower ourselves for a short time to glorify God and lead the lost to Christ because one day we will be joint-heirs with Christ. Lord, show us how to lower ourselves as You did for a short time knowing that one day You will exalt us.

This lesson will attempt to explain how Jesus is superior to the Old Testament Prophets.

"Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you." Isaiah 49:15 (CSBBible) There are times in the life of every believer that the thought that God has forgotten me comes up. You've been praying maybe even fasting and praying but the connection isn't there. The pressures of life sometimes create an illusion that God has forgotten you. In those moments remind yourself "GOD IS ALWAYS WITH ME AND HE WILL NEVER FORGET ME!" May the Lord give you His peace today. Lord, we praise You because You never forget Your beloved.

The lesson today looks at why Christ is the superior priest for the believer

And do not offer any parts (your body italics mine) of it to sin as weapons for unrighteousness. But as those who are alive from the dead, offer yourselves to God, and all the parts of yourselves to God as weapons for righteousness. Romans 6:13 (CSBBible) As Christians we must be constantly aware our bodies are for Christ. We have been set free from sin, the need to sin, and the need for sin by the complete working of Christ. Strive every day to be conformed to the image of Christ. Lord, teach us how to live holy like You.

Jeremiah 32:42 (CSBBible) One of the admirable characteristics of God is His justice. Even when God is punishing us because of our disobedience He has planned how He will restore us. All Christians are in a covenantal relationship with Christ. If you have sinned against our Lord, repent, accept the punishment, but look forward to the reconciliation. Lord, You are worthy of our praise because You are a just God.

"Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be in the likeness of his resurrection." Romans 6:4-5 (CSBBible) There is a Christian doctrine called the doctrine of imputation. Simply, the doctrine of imputation believes that God takes from one and puts it i...n another. The application is at your salvation God took the righteousness of Jesus and put it in you and took your sin and put it on Him. Because Jesus's righteousness is eternal, His righteousness perpetually overcomes your sin; therefore, Christ always remains righteous. Because Christ's remains righteousness, you remain righteous even when you sin after salvation. Hallelujah! Now, this is not a license to sin. I say this for those who are beating themselves up for sins committed after being saved or one who believes he/she must keep doing good deeds to maintaign God's grace. Jesus paid it all! It-is-finished! Lord, we praise and thank You for taking on our sin and being our Righteousness. See more
