BIG-HEARTED SACRED HEART STUDENTS PRESENT BIG CHECK TO EECM EECM got a big boost from some little people in Shadyside on Wednesday. EECM CEO Carole Bailey was generously presented with a $7,695 check from Sacred Heart Elementary K-4 students. Not even the kids’ teachers and parents expected so much money to be raised through the school’s Read-A-Thon. The students raised money for their school and for EECM by getting sponsors for hours of reading time.... The kids wanted EECM to benefit because of our skyrocketing demand for food and meals during the pandemic. CEO Carole Bailey thanked the Sacred Heart students, their parents, teachers, and all associated with the school and parish. At EECM, volunteers are the heart and soul of how our pantry and kitchen deliver food and meals to the needy. Our Pantry Coordinator Evan Averberg-Johnson is seen here welcoming dedicated volunteers from AFLAC’s regional office. EECM‘s Chef Nikki Baverso gives the thumbs up to 50 delivered lunches from East Liberty’s own Bird on the Run restaurant. This donation comes from our collaboration with Postmates!
