Brigette, your ability to keep smiling and putting things in perspective as you planned a wedding during the pandemic was truly inspiring! Check out this exciting call for chapter proposals by two alums from our program, Dr. Noah Potvin and Dr. Kate Myers-Coffman! We (Noah Potvin and Kate Myers-Coffman) invite music therapy clinicians, interns, and students to submit a chapter proposal for an edited book entitled Case Studies for Music Therapy Clinicians: Portraits of Everyday Practice (Routledge). The focus of this book is on everyday practice in music therapy. We intend this text to be a guide for students ...becoming acquainted with clinical practice as they transition into clinical practicums and internships as well as for entry-level clinicians adjusting to full-time caseloads as new professionals. We are looking to avoid exceptional, once-in-a-career, and/or miracle cases that, while aspirational, may provide students and new professionals with unrealistic expectations of everyday practice. Instead, we are focusing on the nuances of everyday practice, the challenges or scenarios that may regularly come up yet are not as focused on within extraordinary clinical case examples. In an effort to sustainably support music therapy clinicians and promote their practice, royalties from this text will be donated towards music therapy awards and/or scholarships that support clinician research and professional development. Please click on this link to access the Call for Chapters document for more information about the book and the submission process: https://drive.google.com//1UHrXfILj8inFfyHB8S_YK4gpW/view If you are interested in submitting a chapter abstract, would like more information about the project, or have general questions or comments, please contact us here: Noah Potvin ([email protected]) Kate Myers-Coffman ([email protected]) See more
