Missouri youth deer season is Saturday, and rifle season is just around the corner. Proper caping of your deer is one of the first steps to ensure a good mount.... Do not cut it up the back of the neck. Make sure that when cutting the legs, the incision should be made up the back of the leg, where the brown hair meets the white hair. Cut the cape longer than you think you need. We can always trim it off. We can't put it back on. If possible just field dress him, and bring him by the shop. We do not charge extra, to cape deer that we mount. Even of you don't bring him to our shop. Take your deer to your taxidermist for caping. Good luck this Fall. Have a safe and fun hunting season.
