*Gross humor warning* Happy Valentines Day! Dr. Anne and Dr. Mike have experienced lots of ways that pets express love but this is by far the most interesting...and gross. However, it's the ones we love the most that we would do anything for right!

Meet Jasper! He's a 10 week old Vizsla puppy who visited us for the first time yesterday. Everyone was talking about Jasper all morning knowing that a new puppy was coming later in the day. Cute puppy alert! As part of our desensitization routine with puppies we introduce Jasper to each staff member, some of us offering treats and others just love. We finally found a food that Jasper really loved so oyr vet tech Taryn offered chicken baby food as Dr. Anne performed her exam. ...This method helps condition Jasper to know that "when I go to the vet I get yummy treats." He associates the building, smells, sounds, staff, and even exam table as positive reinforcement. As he focuses on his food we sneak in his vaccines and its a pleasant visit! This is what we strive to achieve for each puppy. It's also why puppy visits might seem to take a little longer.
