Chester County Hospital received a ray of sunshine during this rainy week thanks to a generous donation from AJ Lovasz. AJ, a 13-year old self-taught crochetier, made 100 hats for the newborns at the hospital. His mother, Noriko, was notified about the need two months ago when family friends, Joe and Pat Kirkner, saw a post shared by RN Amy D’Antonio asking for donated hats. AJ got to work on his donation, diligently making hat after hat using his original baby cap patterns. ...Noriko shared that AJ’s autism helps him hyper focus, increasing the speed in which he was able to turn the hats around. Both AJ and Noriko were grateful for the opportunity to help the hospital, as it gave AJ something to do during the shutdown. Thanks to AJ, and the thousands of donations received over the last couple of months, the hospital is now well-stocked with hats for our newest patients and no longer in need of additional donations.
