Good evening volunteers of the Cherry Tree Fire Company. Cherry Tree is having a "Food Distribution" on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at the Cherry Tree Ball Fi...eld from 10:00 a.m. till ?? A 40 pound box of USAD approved food will be distributed. The box consists of: Milk, Eggs, Cheese, Fruit, Vegetables & Meat. This is provided for those in need that could use a little help. This will continue throughout 2020. THIS WILL BE A DRIVE THROUGH DISTRIBUTION. I would appreciate your help with "Traffic Control" and volunteers are welcome to help with the distribution. It is with Heavy Hearts that we have to say goodbye to a mentor a friend, a former Fire Chief. R.I.P. Mr. Dennis Kopp. Your spirit will always live on...... Dennis J. Kopp May 30, 1938 - November 16, 2020... "Denny", 82, Northern Cambria, passed away November 16, 2020. Born May 30, 1938, in Spangler, the son of Harl and Goldie (Shaner) Kopp. Preceded in death by parents; loving wife, Nancy (Dawes) Kopp who died December 28, 2016; brothers, Robert, Ted, Lowell, Francis and Wilfred "Bud" Kopp; and sisters, Eleanor McGrail, Patricia Patton and Norma Jean Rebovich. Survived by daughters, Kathy Lynn Filipovich, Worthville, PA; Brenda (Novella), wife of Michael Amico, Morgantown, WV; Carla (Novella), wife of Lawrence Potts, Fort Mill,SC; and Robin (Novella), wife of Randy Dunchak, Apex, NC; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of Harriet Meyer, Nancy Gardner, Jerry (Eileen) Kopp and Becky (Dale) Campbell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. US Army Veteran. Member of Kinport Assembly of God Church. Denny was formerly employed as a coal miner at Greenwich Collieries and later worked many years as a Funeral Service Technician at Moriconi Funeral Home. Formerly served as Chief of Cherry Tree Volunteer Fire Co. Friends will be received Monday, November 23, at Kinport Assembly of God Church, Cherry Tree, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m., Interment, East Ridge Cemetery. Due to ongoing Covid-19 health concerns please observe social distancing and wear a mask.
