A car seat will provide increased safety for your child while traveling in a vehicle. But we must ensure that we have the correct car seat and that it is being... used properly. A misused car seat can still result in significant injuries for your child if you were to be involved in a crash. In this crash test, we see a car seat that is installed correctly (right) and one that is incorrect (left)the tether is not being used and the seat belt has been routed through the incorrect belt path. Always follow both car seat manufacturer’s and vehicle manufacturer’s instructions. Visit cpsboard.org/car-seat-safety/ for more information. #KeepEachOtherSafe #TechsRule National Safety Council NHTSA National CPS Certification Safe Kids Worldwide

Snow and ice that flies off a roof of a vehicle and strikes another car or truck can cause serious damage in its own right. However, even when the snow and ice do not smash through and shatter a windshield, the impact can cause a driver to lose control of his or her vehicle. This can cause single vehicle or multi-vehicle crashes. For more #WinterDriving #PAWinter tips, visit https://www.PennDOT.gov/Winter #C4TrafficSafety

Remove ice and snow from your roof, windows, mirrors, and all vehicle lights before you drive. If snow or ice from your vehicle strikes a vehicle or person and causes death or injury, you can be ticketed. There are still active road restrictions across the state. Check 511pa.com for information if you must be out on the roads today.

For most people, the end of Daylight Saving Time on Sunday means gaining an extra hour of sleep, and maybe a reminder to change smoke detector batteries. However, we encourage you to add a new tradition to your safety essentials list when falling back and springing forward: Checking for vehicle safety recalls. Don't put yourself, loved ones, or others on the road at risk by failing to fix any unrepaired vehicle recall. Taking a few minutes maintaining the family car can help keep everyone safe on the road. Remember: "Safe Cars Save Lives." Check for Recalls. Visit NHTSA.gov/recalls and enter your vehicle’s 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN). In seconds, you'll know if your vehicle has an unrepaired safety recall.

As we gear up for Halloween (even if it looks a little different this year), some silliness comes with a fact: texting takes your eyes off the road for five seconds, which, at 55 mph, is the length of a football field. #Halloween #DistractedDriving #EndDD
