We are winding down Tutor Appreciation Week, and we want to thank all of you who have reached out with wonderful messages about our tutors. If you haven’t connected with a tutor yet, we highly encourage you to give it a try! Tutors are not just for those struggling with a concept you can meet with a tutor just to double check that you understand the topic, or to have another set of eyes on your paper, or simply just to have someone help you stay on track with your assignments. We’re here to help with any stage of the learning process, and we hope to connect with you soon in person or online. Link in bio! #bucksccc #tutorappreciationweek #collegesuccess
Tutor Appreciation Week gives us the chance to highlight all of the professional development that our tutors do to help them provide quality support to our students. Did you know that more than half of the Center’s tutors have achieved Master Tutor certification through the College Reading and Learning Association’s International Tutor Training Program, and more than 80% have achieved at least one level of certification, with more in progress! This means that that most of ou...r tutors have completed up to 30 hours of training with topics relating to learning theory and tutoring best practices, and they have at least 75 hours of hands-on experience. The ASC is deeply committed to providing students with the best support we can, and all of our tutors engage in regular training to ensure the quality of our services. If you’d like to connect with a tutor, check out the link in our bio to schedule an appointment. #bucksccc #tutorappreciationweek #collegesuccess
Tutor Appreciation Week is a great time to highlight who our tutors are and how they can help you be successful in your classes. Did you know that we have a wide range of tutors working in the ASC? We have your peers who have successfully completed the same courses, as well as former students who have moved on to four year or graduate institutions but continue to tutor in the ASC. We also have Bucks faculty currently teaching the courses, as well as many professional tutors p...resently working in their respective fields. All of our tutors are equally committed to supporting students, and they each have their own approach to helping you understand the material. We highly encourage students to connect with different tutors until you find the one that best fits your style. For more information or to make an appointment, check out the link in our bio. #bucksccc #tutorappreciationweek #collegesuccess See more

FALL 2020 UPDATE - 6/22/2020 We want to share with you our plans for the phased reopening of our campuses for the Fall 2020 semester. In order to ensure ...the health & safety of our students, faculty, and staff, most courses will be held remote or online, and we will only bring students to campus for courses that have a required hands-on component Students enrolled in the specified hands-on courses, will be granted access to campus to complete their studies for the class time allotted and will be directed to leave campus once their class has finished. These classes include portions of health science, chemistry, culinary, kinesiology, workforce training, public safety training, and some music and arts. A final list of these courses will be available shortly on bucks.edu. Instruction for specified courses will occur at whichever campus location has the appropriate facilities/labs. All students and faculty coming to campus will be required to maintain social distancing rules and wear a mask. Further details will be provided to those students registered for courses with an on-campus component. There will be no group gatherings and as a result, all fall sports have been canceled. The cafeteria will remain closed and students are not to gather with friends before or after class. Many remote student activities are planned, with more information to be released in the coming weeks. While our facilities, especially classrooms, do not permit us to bring back all students given the strict screening, socially distancing, and sanitizing protocol required between each class, under this plan we will ensure course learning goals are met in a safe manner. We will also be able to determine our capacity for managing the guidelines from the PA Department of Education and the CDC. Should conditions continue to improve once the semester is underway, we have the option to bring more students to campus to meet with their faculty at designated class times. Conversely, should the situation worsen in the fall, our students’ learning modality will not be disrupted. Please know that we did not make any of these decisions lightly, and our first priority is ensuring that our Bucks community stays safe & healthy. As you continue to learn and work remotely, know that the college is here to help if you are having difficulties. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Stay safe and healthy.
Black lives matter. We’re taking the opportunity to listen and learn. #BlackoutTuesday
