The Richmond School House Museum will be open this weekend! Saturday Sept.18th & Sunday Sept.19th 2021. The hours both days will be 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Also, we are always looking for archival material pertaining to the Brighton Twp. area. Donating items such as old photos, letters etc. are greatly appreciated.

Greetings! Update. The Richmond School House Museum will be open on 9/12/21. from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. As an added feature we will have on display two antique cars from the bygone days. A 1931 Ford Roadster and a 1931 Ford five window five coupe will be featured. Step back in time on Sunday Sept.12, 2021 from 1 to 4 pm. Free parking and admission.

Greetings! The Richmond "Little Red" School House Museum will be open this upcoming weekend. On Sept 11, 2021 & Sept.12, 2021 the one room school house will be open from 1 to 4 pm. both days. This School was built in 1844 and continually used until 1950. Free admission and parking.

Dateline May 5, 2020 Brighton Township, Pa. Please note, the Brighton Twp. Historical Society has cancelled the upcoming May meeting. The May 12, 2020 membership meeting/covered dish dinner has been cancelled. Likewise, the Richmond School House Museum will be closed on June 6 & 7, 2020. Stay tuned for future announcements. Hopefully, we can resume regular events in the very near future. Thanks.

Brighton Township Historical Society General Membership meeting. Nov. 12, 2019. Two Mile Run Park. Shultz Lodge. 7:00 pm. The evening event will have two presentations! The first presenter, Mr Denny Kalember, designs and builds dioramas of military battles. He will feature a WW ll setup. Our second presenter, Mr. Charley Metcalf. will share with us the curious case of a WW ll letter. The letter was found in a Virginia home. But it was addressed to a local Beaver addre...ss that Charley now resides in. The Virginia resident mails the letter to the Beaver address. Charley then starts to investigate the rightful owner. The original addressee was an MIA from WW ll whose name appears on the Beaver WW ll Monument. Details at the meeting. Our Annual Veterans Day Program... Greetings from the Brighton Township Historical Society! Just a brief note; our next General Membership Meeting is on Tues. Sept. 17, 2019. at 7:00 pm. The subject matter will be Roger Applegate's book, "Strolling Through Time." Presented by both Roger and his wife Brenda Applegate, they will highlight some dates and interesting historical tidbits that have helped mold and shape the development of Beaver County. They will also give the audience some idea of the amount of research and some of the problems that they encountered while writing the book. Tues. Also, the School will be open on Sunday September 1, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Step back in time by visiting the school originally built in 1844. Free admission and parking. Located on Park Rd.
