Important Announcement Erie County Department of Public Safety will be conducting a Quarterly Municipal Disaster/Storm Siren Test for Erie County on: Friday Jan...uary 15, 2021 @ 1pm or 1300. This test is done four times a year to ensure that in the event of weather related emergency the siren operates properly. The difference between the fire siren and the weather siren is the following: Fire Siren: Fire siren goes off in the event the fire company is dispatched for a fire, motor vehicle accident or rescue situation. It cycles up and down for a total of three short bursts. Storm Siren: Storm siren goes off in the event of severe weather to notify the general public to seek immediate shelter and tune into NOAA weather radio or other media sources for information. The siren is activated and will sound for 3 minutes. See more

Santa is not a complainer, but he did mention that his sled has much better insulation than the bucket on our ladder truck after his 5 hour inspection tour. But, he enjoyed visiting with everyone today, even from a distance, and we're sorry if we were not able to make it to your neighborhood. On behalf of the department, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Santa has completed his inspection of the homes East of Route 8 and will be moving West shortly after a brief pause to let the reindeer drink!
Santa Inspection Visit Saturday December 19th Once again, the members of the Belle Valley Fire Department will be escorting Santa as he checks the roofs and chimneys in our district before he delivers gifts on December 25th. The visit will begin approximately 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19th. Santa will be starting on the Eastern side of our district in the Kohler Road area and proceeding through the streets to the Western side of our district in the Glenwood Park Avenue/P...erry Highway area. In accordance with the latest CDC and PA guidelines, neither Santa nor the firefighters will be permitted to leave the vehicles, so we will sadly have to skip our usual candy cane distribution to the kids along the way. The firefighters and Santa will be masked. As usual, though, Santa will be in the bucket of our tower truck so that he can respond to the children, and we will pause as often as possible for those who want to take pictures or videos. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, but especially for children, so we’d like to do what we can to bring at least a small sense of normalcy to the season.

On Monday, Belle Valley was dispatched to assist Greenfield Township for a barn fire. The fire spread to an adjacent garage, but quick work by the first units arriving on scene prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby home. Kuhl Hose Fire Department, Crescent Hose Company , Fuller Hose Co# 1, Wattsburg Hose Company, Harborcreek Fire Department, EmergyCare, and Fairfield Hose Company VFD were also on the scene.
