Pictured here is artist Wayne Hyde and Vietnam veteran Bill Wertz at the installation of the Robert Hartsock statue at Veterans Grove in downtown Bedford. The... statue of Robert, and his service dog Duke, will be unveiled on Saturday, September 12th at 11 am. Robert Hartsock was a Bedford County native, and dog handler, who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Vietnam in 1969. See more

Something to think about!
My sincerest apologies to anyone that ordered a book recently or in the last few months and the shipping took longer than usual. Due to COVID this was out of my control. Amazon is not printing books as fast as they normally would and the USPS is also experiencing delays in shipping. Again, I apologize and I hope and pray everything is back to normal very soon. Stay safe, take care, and be on the lookout for a new book very soon!
Make some time to see The Wall That Heals! Today The Wall will stand at the Bedford School District Track/Athletic Facility on 440 East Watson Street in Bedford.... Admission is Free so make sure to bring the whole family. All are invited to attend and the wall will be available for visitors for 24 hours a day until it closes on Sunday at 2 p.m. We hope you can come honor the veterans who lost their lives during the Vietnam War.
Totally disgusting, disrespectful, sickening and heartbreaking!

Chaneysville East View Cemetery this evening! It's absolutely beautiful with new flags!
Postmasters often issued First Day Covers and Last Day Covers. I was lucky enough to find the Last Day Cover for the Chaneysville Post Office in the little town where I grew up! Ida Belle Aaron, the wife of David Harry Aaron, assumed charge of the Chaneysville Post Office on Dec. 28, 1931 until it closed on Nov. 15, 1938, the last day the stamp was used. The mail then come from Flintstone, MD. Here is the photo of the Last Day Cover with her signature in the corner!
I this! I was reading the newspaper this morning and come across this obit. I don't know this gentleman but one thing is for sure, he had a sense of humor and I'm sure was very ornery... When it come to his wife he picked her up at a skating rink in '59 and kept her for the next 60 years! She was impressed by his car and red hair! He also had 2 extraordinarily obnoxious dogs who loved him and no one else! And 2 tours in Vietnam! May God rest his soul!
The prices of my books on Amazon have been reduced as well. Check them out! The link below should take you to a complete listing!
