Autumn House East 31.03.2021

3/15/2021 Dear Residents, Family and Friends, Personal Care homes have severely been impacted by COVID-19. In March 2020, DHS issued a memorandum providing guidance to facilities on restricting visitation of all visitors and non-essential health care personnel, except for certain compassionate care situations, such as end-of-life situation. ... While DHS guidance has focused on protecting personal care home residents from COVID-19, we recognize that physical separation from family and other loved ones has taken a physical and emotional toll on residents and their loved ones. We at Cardinal are very excited that DHS has given us new guidelines due to the vaccinations that have been distributed throughout our buildings and other buildings in Pennsylvania. Starting today we have been given guidance on the new visiting guidelines. Screening of all who enter the facility for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. (Temperature check, questionnaire every time someone visits) if you have had contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the prior 14 days regardless of your vaccination status you will not be able to enter the facility. Hand hygiene: You will need to wash hands or use alcohol-based hand rub before entering the building. Face Covering or mask (covering nose and mouth) You will be able to go directly to your family member/loved one’s room. Please do not stop at other resident’s rooms and/or facility offices if you need to speak to someone please call the office number or press your loved one’s call button. Only two visitors can visit at one time. Please keep mask on while in room and maintain 6 feet while visiting. IF the resident is fully vaccinated, they can choose to have close contact (including touch) with their visitor while wearing a well-fitted face mask and performing hand-hygiene before and after. Regardless, visitors should physically distance from other residents and staff. When a new case of COVID-19 among residents or staff is identified, we will immediately begin outbreak testing and suspend all visitation until at least one round of facility testing is completed. If the first round of testing revels one or more additional COVID-19 cases in other areas of the facility, then the facility will continue to suspend visitation for all residents until the facility meets the criteria to discontinue outbreak testing. We highly encourage you to become vaccinated when you have the opportunity. With the nice weather approaching it is still recommended to go outside and visit as weather permits. Sincerely, Amanda Palmer, LPN PCHA
