All contributions by corporations to any political committee or for any political purpose should be forbidden by law. . . . Let individuals contribute as they desire; but let us prohibit in effective fashion all corporations from making contributions for any political purpose, directly or indirectly." Theodore Roosevelt, (26th President of the United States (1905, 1906)). Note: This rule must apply to organizations of any kind, not merely corporations. There are no exceptions. -JAA 9/18/19

"The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy (35th President of the United States)

I have led a very lucky life, but never did I expect in a lifetime that P22 would come along at a time when my wife and I felt most vulnerable in our personal lives. The entire thing remains an incredible experience and we hope that the #SaveLaCougars campaign sees an immense boost following the 60 Minutes piece airing soon tonight. We cannot wait to see it either. Also, I hope you all get the chance to read The Diner (it is only self-promotion if you are not proud of your work, and I am proud of my work). Although the Al and Paula in the story are fictional, they are based on my real grandparents - two incredible people that saved me many times before Paula and then P22 came along. It is available on Amazon.

A man once told me the following: "honesty, integrity and hard work. In that order, without exceptions." That man was my father, Frank Albert Archinaco. He was the best man I ever knew outside of my Grandfather, Albert Archinaco (the great short order cook - a partner with his wife Paula Archinaco in the cooking duo know to operate the famous and magical "Paula & Al's Diner" in Elizabeth, NJ)(Yes, the food was that good, but I have to admit I am somewhat biased). He als...o taught me to tell the truth, no matter what the possible consequences, because the truth always prevailed, even when it sometimes didn't look like it would - and even when it caused personal harm and sacrifice. "The truth always gets out," he would say. "So never let the truth embarrass you." He liked to sum it up his way: "no b*llsh*t ever." When he was dying, I tried to b*llsh*t my father about something. I thought it was out of it (because of the narcotics) - and it was a white lie - one designed to allow him to retain some of his dignity. But even then, when confronted with adopting that white lie to retain some self esteem, he said: "Hey Jay, what did I tell you. No b*llsh*t ever." (He apparently wasn't as out of it as he led me to believe.) Those were some of the last words he ever said to me. And I figured, that if those were some of the last things he decided to say, they must have been pretty important. "No b*llsh*t, ever." Pretty simple advice it seems to me, and that is what I have tried to follow my entire life, not just after he died. Following his advice - and that advice - has led me to wonderful friends, places, success and love that I could never have imagined. Three years ago, today, on February 17, 2011, pancreatic cancer got my dad. Today, like every day, I miss my dad. But when I do, I follow some of the other advice he gave me in the months before he died: "Think about the good times," he said: "because man, we had a lot of them!" Miss you dad, but haven't forgotten any of the good times. Frank Archinaco - December 10, 1943 - February 17, 2011
