Last evening, the Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees, Archdiocese of Philadelphia office hosted a virtual rosary rally to mark the 106th World Day of Migrants and Refugees and express our solidarity with efforts of the Universal Church. I had the wonderful opportunity to offer a message of hope to our sisters and brothers across the globe and to the faithful from throughout the region who participated. You can view that video below. This morning at a special Mass, Communities of Don Guanella & Divine Providence, part of the Intellectual Disabilities Division of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, celebrated the Feast day of their patron, Saint Luigi Guanella (Don Guanella). They also marked the 60th anniversary of the opening of Don Guanella School. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop John McIntyre, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia. This year our Holy Father has chosen the theme Forced Like Jesus Christ to Flee and asked Catholics across the globe to reflect on it deeply. Our local gathering to express solidarity with efforts of the Universal Church will coincide with the Feast of St. John Paul II & take place virtually on Thurs. Oct. 22 at 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Rally. I had the joy yesterday, and will again today, to return to Saint Agnes Parish, West Chester, where I had the blessing of serving as Pastor from 2009-2012, in order to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation over these two days for approximately 130 parish youth! God bless the Confirmandi, their sponsors, and loved ones! Come Holy Spirit!

Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Recently residents from Catholic Housing and Community Services affordable senior housing communities came together and offered virtual advice to Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools - AOPS students returning to the classroom for the first time since last spring. Our senior citizens, who we love and cherish so much, are invaluable members of our community. Let us thank God for their gifts of wisdom and experience! I also want to give a special s...hout out to the dedicated staff of Catholic Housing and Community Services who work day in and day out with our seniors and are the hands and heart of Christ for them. They keep seniors connected to one another, to the Church, and to the community. May God bless them and may God bless you all abundantly!

Yesterday, I once again had the awesome opportunity to celebrate Mass at a local chapel and tour a pregnancy crisis center in the Bucks County region with the incredible team members of Legacy of Life Foundation, Inc.. An ultrasound machine was donated through the exemplary efforts and generosity of the Knights of Columbus Council 14626 St. Michael the Archangel! May God continue to bless all of the vital work being done in our region at this pregnancy crisis center and the others like it!

Yesterday, I was at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Ambler for its 100th Anniversary Mass. Among those participating in this joyous occasion was almost 101 year-old parishioner, Mary, who has called Saint Joseph in Ambler her home parish for her entire life! May God bless Mary and all at Saint Joseph Church on this momentous anniversary! Last evening, I was joined by Bishop Bruce Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., to concelebrate Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of Aparecida, Our Lady Revealed, at St. Martin of Tours Parish & School - Philadelphia. This was Bishop Lewandowski’s first trip back to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia since he was ordained as an Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Baltimore in August. We were thrilled to welcome him back! Brazilian Catholics have a particular devotion to Our Lady of Aparecida,... a title of Our Blessed Mother, translated as, Our Lady Revealed. It was a beautiful Mass at St. Martin of Tours. Our Lady of Aparecida, pray for us! God bless you!
