While the majority of our members have requested that we restart, unfortunately Governor Wolf’s new mandates prevent us from doing so for the time being.... We continue to remain hopeful to safely finish the spring session, and have discussed multiple contingencies with the APA National Office for holding our world qualifier. Further, we remain cautious with the increase in numbers of positive Covid tests. Thus, Washington and Allegheny County teams will continue to be on hold. Dear APA Family, Let me start by saying I hope all our APA members and their families, as well as our Host Locations and their families, are staying safe and healthy. We’ve missed our APA family more than we can express! We have received dozens of requests over the past few weeks to resume play. With the Governor’s recent change allowing pool tables to be open, we were hopeful to start play next week. As of June 17, 2020, the Guidance for Businesses in the Restaurant Industry Permitted to Operate During the COVID-19 Disaster Emergency to Ensure the Safety and Health of Employees and the Public, changed the requirement that pool tables be and other gaming areas be closed from must to "encouraged". We will be resuming play on Monday, June 22nd. We would like each captain to contact their host location and find out if they are available for league play.
