The last several months have felt and looked different for all of us, and we have missed seeing you all in our library. While the Free Library continues to follow federal, state, health, and local guidelines to help manage the spread of COVID-19 and our buildings remain closed to the public for now, several services across our system are expanding. Some Free Library locations are now offering limited services, including returns, material pickups, and phone reference, along with virtual programming.

The Andorra Library is now a Materials Pickup location! Place your holds online or over the phone. When the items arrive, you will be notified to call us to schedule a pickup appointment. Due to a lag caused by quarantining items for the safety of the public and the staff, best to get your holds in early. If you have any questions, would like book recommendations, or need to reset your library pin, give us a call on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. Happy reading!

I just learned that while many of us were enjoying yesterday's heavy migration and the amazing experience of watching so many birds zip by the moon, there was t...ragedy downtown in the form of a "historic event" involving bird/window collisions. "At the end of the day, however, it's an opportunity for us to use this information to garner support for making Philadelphia and other cities safer for birds," says Audubon PA's Keith Russell. This could include publicizing such events, working with building managers, pushing for the passage of a mandate in Philadelphia for bird-safe glass analogous to NYC's, and volunteering to help Audubon PA with their monitoring efforts.
